How to access one VM from another VM?

Hi,

I have two VMs running on my machine. The network configuration used is NAT for each VM.

VM1: 192.168.181.170

VM2: 192.168.181.171

There is one http service running on VM2 at port 9990. On VM2 -> Browser -> localhost:9990 gives the response. But on VM1 -> Browser -> 192.168.181.171:9990 doesn't work.

Trying VM1 -> Command Prompt -> telnet 192.168.181.171 9990 complains connection refusal.

Can someone suggest how to get it to work?

Hi and welcome to the communities,

you should check your local firewall of your webserver VM. Also check if the webserver listens only to localhost.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Smiley Happy

The below link has all the explanation of what all i have tried so far. Firewall is taken care of in that.

But to brief, firewall is inactive on all - host machine, VM1 and VM2.
