How much of internet does the vmware get?

Does the host machine get some "reserved" bandwidth (does seem so since when i use a torrent client on my vmware, the internet doesn't work there, but still works on the host machine. Btw, my net configuration is ok coz if i stop the torrent and try to access the internet it works perfectly fine

No, there is no reservation or network throttling in a guest. Understand, however, that ALL network traffic is handled completely by the CPU in a guest, so if there is a lot of network activity, you may not have as good performance as you would on a physical PC, where the physical NIC offloads some of the processing from the main CPU.
