Guest with public IP unaccessible from external computers

Good afternoon,

Im trying to set up a test webserver with VMware Player and the webserver is unaccessible from the host, and from any other computer. Here is the info.

Host: Windows 7 laptop using Vmware Player

Guest: CentOS with Apacher

LAN: Bridged/Wired and connected directly to a router

Both the host and guest have a public IP each, I can browse the internet from each of them, I can ping the guest from the host or any other computer BUT i can't access the webserver in any other than the Guest. I need that guest machine to be publicly available online. I've been checking every possible setting but I still get  Error 504 when i try to browse to the Guest server

Thanks in advance,

1. Is there a proxy server that your web browsers go through?

2. Are the public ip addresses being assigned via dhcp to both the host machine and the centos guest?

3. Have you tried accessing the site from a machine outside of your network?

4. When you access the website from the centos guest are you using it's public IP address or a loopback address?

The matter was solved, the Guest machine had its 80 port closed, i added a rule on iptables and now its working
