Guest OS stuck resolution

Running Ubuntu 6.10 on Windows Vista build 6000.

Ubuntu's resolution can't go any higher than 800x600.

How do I make it so that I can select resolutions larger than that? Is there anything I need to download or a file I have to edit?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Pyotr,

Unfortunately, VMware Player does not come with the VMware Tools and does not include an option to install the VMware Tools from the UI menu.

You could download a 30 day eval of VMware Workstation or download the free VMware Server. Both have the VMware Tools included with the product.

You see the VMware Player was design to only run/play existing virtual machines and assumes that the person that created the VM and give it to you to run, has already configured the virtual machine, like installing the VMware Tools.
