Fedora 26 and VMware Player

Hey guys,

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening:

I had Fedora 25 installed on my machine, on that I had VMware Player installed working just fine, this weekend I upgraded my PC to Fedora 26 and VMware Player stopped working, I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it with no luck, it won't show anything, no errors, no messages, nothing, not even running it as root will give anything.

Any ideas what can cause that?

Thanks in advance.

That didn't work for me, once I copied the libraries and tried to run this:

VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=force vmplayer

Nothing happens, any other ideas/suggestions?

i had the same problem, so i write an blog post about this and how to fix it. https://sudobeer.com/how-to-install-vmware-workstation-12-on-fedora-26-linux-easy-way

it looks like a problem with wayland, also you probably will need to compile manually vmmon and vmnet all the instructions are in the blog post
