Error while Running VM after changing Hardware compatibility

Dear community

I try to run an old applications using several VM designed to run with VMWare Player 3.1.3 under Windows 7.

Now I try to run these VM under Windows 10 by using VMWare Player 12.

With VMWare Workstation, I have tried to "convert" old VMX file with hardware compatibility Workstation 12.x.

I have 6 different VMX files, 4 are running fine after changing hard compatibility with "Change Hardware Compatibility Wizard", but 2 can not started with the same error :

As I am not a specialist of VM, I can't find a solution to this issue.

Can someone help me about this error ?

Regards

First, do those applications run if you don't change the hardware compatibility level? If they do, then just run them like that – there's no point in changing the hw compat level most of the time.

Unfortunately, same error when just trying to execute my old vmx files with Workstation Player 12.

Same error, except the value of the PCI memory

Your VM appears to be suspended only - remove the vmss file and delete the vmx-line that references it.
Then the VM should be able to start normally.

Not strange at all - you did not set the bootorder.
Do that next

How can I set the bootorder ?

With the other vmx files, I don't set anything?

The play button used to have a dropdown: select boot into firmware/bios

This option is not present on VMWare Player, but I can use the bios.forceSetupOnce = "TRUE" in the VMX file.

Anyway, I can't boot correctly.

With your modified file, i shall add a CD/ROM to the virtual machine using an image file (appli-vmware-vmware), to start the VM from it.

According to me, the original Virtual Machine use a virtual CD/DVD to boot, mapped on a file appli-vmware-vmware ( 3 870ko), but as I use this image to boot, the error appears.

The appli-vmware-vmware is a binary file, so perhaps it's content is just incompatible with the new releases of VM Ware player?

appli-vmware-vmware is a binary file ???
I have no idea of your definition of binary files - some details would help

Non ASCII file, the "CD/ROM" image with name appli-vmware-vmware is not editable.

No, it's a part of a simulation package (an aircraft application server) i'm trying to run under W10, there is several virtual machines (6), each VM is present on a specific folder as this one:

The appli-vmware-vmware is used as a CD/DVD image in the property of the VM .:
