Error deleting VM

I am trying to delete VM from VMware. I do not need VMware in this computer anymore. I am afraid that the allocated space (100gb) would not be recovered if i delete the VMware and not the VM inside the VMware first.

Error -

- I first entered the password of the vm and right clicked on the vm in vm library and clicked 'Delete from Disk"
- then it popped -

" To delete this encrypted virtual machine without entering the password, the folder containing this virtual machine will be moved to the Recycle Bin.

Folder path: "Q:\".

Do you want to continue?"

- I clicked continue.

- then i showed the following error - "Error while deleting the virtual machine: Failed to move the virtual machine folder to the Recycle Bin."

please help me delete the vm and vmware and recover my 100gb space. I used drive Q and not the documents folder.

Has the VM be stored in the Q: drive's root, rather than in a directory?

If you don't need the VM anymore, you may simply delete it's files/folder. Make sure you delete the correct files!

I Delete the VM.  Since the VM was in the Q: Drive's root, i put all those vm files present in the Q drive (only vm files were there in that drive) to a folder, and then i went back to the vmware and added this vm back to the library and i was able to successfully execute 'delete from disk' option.
