I'm currently running the following setup:
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64
- Windows XP Mode within VMWare
- Using an RSync container to upload files/folders to a remote server
When using RSync, it would get so far then error out stating the connection had been closed. I found this strange, as it's always worked natively on Windows 7. Long story short I got a VHD of the same image, ran it in Windows XP Virtual PC - alls well, and it works fine.
I'm assuming it's related to how VMWare Player is emulating a network card - is there a way to directly hook into the network card similar to how Virtual PC does it?
Reason I would like this is that VMWare Player is so much more intuative than Virtual PC - however it's a deal breaker if I can't run Rsync efficiently 😞
