Has anyone using VMWare Player been able to cut and paste files to a DVD RW drive on a guest system? Thanks.

Found a solution to the "DVD RW Cut and Paste Problem" in my guest Windows XP system.
Installed free packet writing Drag2Disc Software for Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP (32-bit, 64-bit) from IBM/Lenovo on guest system and formatted a DVD disk. Everything seems to work properly on the DVD RW drive in both the host and guest systems.
The free Drag-to-Disc packet writing software can be downloaded from the following site:

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

you configured the writer as IDE
in my experience you must configure it as SCSI
see http://sanbarrow.com/vmx/vmx-cd-settings.html
even then I am not sure if packet writing is supported - regular CD-writing software like Nero and others should work though
Which host OS?
Which guest OS?
VMware Tools installed in the guest?
Does Copy-and-Paste works in general (to disk for example)?

I am using a Windows 7 host system with a Windows XP SP3 guest system. VMware Tools are installed on guest system. My DVD RW Drive works properly on the host system. However, the guest system gives me an error that the DVD RW Drive is read only when I try to copy or paste files to it. I have also tried CD and DVD Rw, and DVD ROM disks. I can cut and paste files to the guest usb drive without any problems. Thanks.

Check in the vmx file of the guest that the legacy mode is not enabled for the CD-ROM. Its device type must be: cdrom-raw.
Example:
ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"
