Cannot ping Linux Guest from Windows Host with NAT

Hello,

I'm running a Linux guest on a Vista host. I would like to be able to sftp into the guest (currently shared folders won't work) to copy data from the guest to the host. But I cannot connect nor ping the 192.168.x.y address that the guest has. I am using NAT and it was my understanding that I should be able to connect from the host to the guest over the virtual network.

Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks,

Cam

NAT will block all incoming access to the guest(s) unless you configure port forwarding. (This is how basic firewalls work.) Either configure port forwarding or use bridged networking instead.
