I downloaded the vm player and unbuntu 8.10 from http://chrysaor.info last night.
The vm started up with no problem, I can get online with no issue.
I found in the forums where unity running on a windows host and linux guest doesn't work well (mine's greyed out)
But when I use add/remove program to try to add boinc or anything else, it acts like its working. Prompts for the root password. But then does nothing.
I thought I should be able to update the OS and install packages even when I'm using the player?
