Can't install Player 3.1 on Windows Server 2003??

Is there any trick to installing VMWare Player 3.1.1 on Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard Edition?

When I launch VMware-palyer-3.1.1-282343.exe I see a splash screen, then a dialog box "Error: This product can only be installed on Windows PX or later. Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, and 2000 are not supported."

Is this a known problem? It it because this machine is actually a VM on XenServer?

(I'm trying to test a P2V image of a production server using a Cloud Computing Instance from Softlayer.)

can you be more specific and tell us where you exactly want to install it ?

why do you want to test a P2V in such an obscure environment ?
