You can download and install ESXi, it's free. You will receive a key that will need to be installed that will set your expiration to never.

Hi, you can also use Vmware Server (http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_server/2_0).

Vmware server is installed over the S.O. of your machine (Windows or Linux) and run like an application.

Despite to OP's poor English I believe the OP is asking for free server versions of VMware Products of which Player is not.

Is ESXi simple to operate?

It might be simple for experts like you but not so for a simple user with a simple machine.

Is it simple for a simple user with a simple machine?

Thanks!

HI, yes, ESXi is simple to operate, just install it and, from another PC, browse to https://server

From the webpage, you can install the Vsphere Client and log in to the ESXi.

First check the compatibility matrix in order to see if you machine support ESXi.

If your machine do not support ESXi, then you can use Vmware Server.

Hi, yes, Vmware Server is very easy to operate.

Just install it and go to the application, you will see that vmware server and ESXi are both very intuitives products to be used.

If this is your first approach to vmware, i recommend Vmware Server.

Thank you !

Compare VMWare Player with ESXi, which one is of the following categories?

1. The software is simple to operate.

2. The software does not take up very much operating asset such as RAM and so on.

3. The software is designed for sommon users.

4. The software is free of charge.

Thanks.

The 2nd category is the decisive category...ESXi use very low resources letting the resources for the virtual machines.

Vmware Server share the resources with the S.O. in order to operate, and, as a result, less memory available for the virtual machines

Sorry for my poor English.

Not only my English, my computer operating skills are poor, too.

And so also my machine, simple and cheap.

I need a virtualization for browsing on the internet.

What do you suggest, please?

Will certainly appreciate your help!

Heimin

if you need a simple solution just to surf the Internet with a VM forget ESXi and VMserver.

Try VMplayer instead - it is light weight compared with the other mentioned products

Hi,

You don't want ESXi, it is for computer professionals and needs AT LEAST 2 computers for you to use it.

One computer for running the virtual machine on (server) and another one to access the virtual machine (client).

The server which will run ESXi can ONLY run ESXi and the virtual machines on top of that.

Any existing software will be erased during setup.

Yes, it is simple to use if you know what you are doing.

Like I'd say your best choice is VMware Player.

Thank you Wila !

Really appreciate the information about how ESXi runs.

No need of that kind of trouble.

Really, all I need is something like a good shadow or virtualized operating system

which provides a safe-internet-browsing and e-mailing, etc.

Does VM Player occupy very much resource?

My computer is of the 3rd class.

Thank you very much !
