Preventing Frequent Mailserver password change

Hi,

Mailserver and virtualclients are windows 2008 server R2 and as per password policy, password gets expired every 6 weeks.

After changing it, i need to  delete mailserver mailboxes, re-create them and re-configure loadgen again every time password is changed.

If that is not done, i noticed QoS value comes as zero for mailservers after VMmark test execution.

Is anyone else facing the same issue ?

How can i disable password changing policy ? I followed steps given in following links:-

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154501

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/059465f4-a35b-4172-820c-f0c1e0a44d08/...

and chose policy as "password never expires" and  also chose "dont remember password history".

Still i can see password expiration warning prompt coming for me every time i log-in into my system. How can i get rid of this issue ?

Thanks in Advance,

Anand

Hi

Welcome to the communities.

Must be some group policy not allowing you to do local user group settings .

On the mailserver: Start -> Administrative Tools -> Active Directory Users and Computers. In the left column, open the domain folder and click on Users. In the right column, double click on Administrator. Click on the tab named Account, then under Account Options, click the box next to Password never expires.

Hi Iroderic

Thanks a lot. Have made those changes and do not see password expiry warnings anymore.
