Update Manager 5 with 4.1

Can I install Update manager 5 along with vSphere vCenter 4.1. My basic idea is to upgrade existing ESXi 4.1 to 5 in near future.

I believe VUM 5 require vcenter 5 -  VUM 4 will allow you to upgrade all components including itself to vsphere 5 -
