ESXi backup - ideas?

Hi, how do you guys backup your ESXi hosts (VCenter as VM) for 4.x & 5.x??  I understand there are ways to backup the config settings but is that the best available solution...does the config backup includes all complete custom configs or there are limitations as well....?  Thank you

vicfg-cfgbackup.pl     command would help you with host backup and for vCenter most of the data is on Database (check if inventory service is on a separate db and not to forget SSL certificates)
