I'm trying to launch VMRC 10.0.1 on Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 and I'm seeing the following errors (cherry-picked here for brevity):

System info:
OS: Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 x64
Kernel: 4.13.0-16
My system has libpng (libpng16-16) version 1.6.34-1 installed.
GTK: 3.22.24-0
GCC: 7.2.0
After doing some searches I found from past releases of VMRC that rolling back the version of libpng solved the issue for some people, but I would rather not go that route as it could bork up my system. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas how I might be able to get around it?
Doug
They posted vmrc 10.0.2 on 16Nov17 that fixed the issue for me. Download it and give it a try.
Hi Doug,
i have a similar problem... my VMRC is not starting...the icon appears in the plank and disappears after a while.
My system is exactly the same... Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 and exactly the same versions of kernel, libpng, gtk and gcc.
Did you get it work in the meantime?

Hi Dansen,
I haven't been able to get it to work. I'm hoping they're working on a new VMRC release that will work with Ubuntu 17.10, but I haven't heard anything yet. If I hear anything I'll update this post.

Yes, this fixed it for me as well! Thanks posting that they released it.
Yay, the new version fixed it for me too! Thanks!
