How to Disable the "This site is trying to open vmware remote console" pop-up on console launch from a browser

I cant seem to find a way to prevent this pop-up on console launch?  Not detrimental, but certainly annoying.

Hi All,

I have the same issue and i found a workaround.

In fact in the old version of web browser when they asked you to open an application you have an check box to always remember this action for this application.

This check box has been removed, but you can reactivate it with a small reg file.

I've tried it and now it's working fine for me (tested on Chrome and Edge Chromium)

Attached you will find screenshot when i try to open VMware remote console with the check box.

And you will find the reg file attached and below is the contents.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]

"ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome]

"ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Chromium]

"ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001

Please close all web browser before applying the reg file.

Hope it can help.

Regards

Eric

I changed my preferences which seemed to resolve this issue. In the HTML client click your username (top right) -> Change VM Console Preference -> VMware Remote Console (VMRC)

After that it didnt seem to prompt again

Hi Eric,

Thank you for your post, adding the chromium key in did not work for me on the new Microsoft Edge.  I had to use the 'Edge' key which I had to create. But now I don't get the popup.
