vSphere Update Manager -- shared repository -- which API's

I need to programatically configure Update Manager settings. Please see snapshot.

1. Set download source as shared repository

2. "Validate URL"

3."Apply"

4."Download Now"

Which API's or which ManagedObject/MOR do I need to use to achieve this ?

Appreciate if someone can point me to right direction.

Good day

I haven't seen seen an API that allows you to access VUM directly, but I remember seeing something from the PowerCLI when vSphere 4.0 was released. Take a look at the documentation here: http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/ps-libs/vumps/index.html

afaik, VUM is not accessible through the general vSphere API ... though I have not dug too deep.

VUM Powershell Library is no longer shipped with vSphere update manager, thats the challenge

VUM does not expose an API for doing any VUM configuration with 4.0. The only VUM-ish things you can do via a documented API are around patching the ESX hosts themselves.

Carter,

Know if there are any plans to implement something for VUM in the near future?

Sorry, I can't comment on the future availability of VUM APIs, I'm not close enough to it to give accurate info.
