vSphere 8 Virtual Machine Last Backup Status

Hi,

Previously on vSphere 7, I could get the last backup status from:

$VM.CustomFields.Value

On vSphere 8, this CustomFields is no longer used to display the VM's backup status.  I've noticed "Last Backup" is now in the VM's Notes.

But not all of my VMs are populating Notes with the Last Backup status ... even though Veeam 12 confirms the daily backup was successful.  In fact, less than half my VMs have the "Last backup" status in Notes.

I'm trying to script a daily report to check the VMs backup status but not sure how given CustomFields is no longer used and Notes isn't giving consistent backup status.

Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Environment is vcenter 8.0.1, esxi is 8.0.1 and Veeam is 12.0.0.1420.

Thanks.

Isn't this a question you should ask on a Veeam forum?
