just thought of checking method for creating snapshot

as per explorer  there is red dot against  description .does it mean if this is not necessary parameter .

i tried to use this without description but the task failed.

Yes, the red asterisk indicates that this property is not required.
But be aware that sometimes the API Reference is not always right

Well I tried to run without description parameter and ended in error which is not the case with creating snapshot using gui or properties of

commands.

i find it strange how come VMware documentation is not right sometimes.but as you mentioned I will double check .

Remember that $null is not the same as an empty string.
Try putting $null there
