join host to domain seems to break my auto deploy?

This is the second time this has happened.  I add a host to a domain, update my host profile from the reference host and then everything starts going wrong.  It says the HA agent is disabled and after rebooting etc it fails applying the host profile to the host anymore.  I had to start all over with my datacenter last time... this time I was lucky.  My other host was still running with out the join domain, I changed my reference host to the host that didn't join the domain, updated the profile from the reference host and then reapplied that profile to the host that I had joined to the domain, rebooted and all is well again.  Just wondered if anyone else had this sort of problem?

I never ran into this problem. But it looks like there is something wrong with your original host profile.

yes, it seems so, I am just trying to work out what breaks it.  I am going to start exporting it regularly now before making changes!

In vSphere 4.1 there were some known issues with Host Profiles and domain join.

But I suppose you're on vSphere 5.x ?
