could you please epain the mechanism difference in fetching vsphere info using powercli and rvtools.
Let's start what what both tools have in common, they both use vSphere API methods and properties to retrieve the information from the vSphere environment.
For RVTools Rob has decided what information is displayed.
Since RVTools is delivered as a binary the user can not change what is displayed.
With PowerCLI you are at the driving wheel, you decide what is retrieved and displayed.
The drawback, it takes more time to set it up, since you will have to write the scripts.
In conclusion:
RVTools: quick solution with a pre-defined set of properties
PowerCLI: open solution that allows you to display everything that is available, but requires time to develop
