trying to get-stat on a vm but getting no data for past 5 days. I am not sure if this is because my vcenter statistics are all at the defaults "1"

any idea?

Even with Statistics Level 1 you should see data.

Was the VM powered on at the start of the interval you requested ?

Do you see statistical data in the vSphere Client or the Web Client for that same period ?

That seems to indicate you're only collecting Historical Interval 1.

What does it say for the Historical Interval settings ?

Could also be that the aggregation jobs on you DB server are not running as they should.

From the Statistics Levels you should have data for Historical Intervals 2,3 and 4.

It could be that the aggregation job on the vCenter DB are not running as they should.

Can you check you DB server and see if the aggregation jobs are running successfully ?

It depends which DB you are using.

If it's a SQL server you should be able to see the history of the scheduled jobs.

See View the Job History
