I have installed vsphere powercli 6.0 release 3. I want to use it to create VVOL datastores, but I do not find any option under "New-Datastore" command. I only see options to create NFS/VMFS datastores
1) Is there any option to create VVOL based datastores?
2) Are there other command line utlities to do the same? [vsphere cli?]
3) Will vsphere powercli support this option in later releases?
Thanks in advance,
Kiran

Hi LucD,
Thanks for your response.
But it looks like the esxcli command currently is only to list the datastores and not create/modify/remove them. This is as per
a) Vmware documentation : https://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-60/index.jsp#com.vmware.vsphere.troubleshooting.doc/GUID-45DB163F-3C...
b) ESXcli command line help which shows only "list"
Thanks,
Kiran

I couldn't possibly comment on future releases but I can tell you we monitor the forums and are very community based. I would be interested in the list of things you would like to do if we created VVOL cmdlets please.
I'm currently researching same problem.
After adding new Storage Provider with New-VasaProvider I would like to create new VVOL datastore.
So I'm thinking either adding New-Vvol-Datastore and Remove-Vvol-Datastore would be nice, or extending existing datastore cmdlets to support VVOL datastores
