Update VM template (non domain joined)

Hello,

Has anyone found a neat way of updating their VM template with Windows updates without joining to the domain?

I have found the following post which is also on another website but wondering if anyone has anything else?

Ideally I would like to show more output for the person updating it, similar to the one found below...

I'm not sure where the relation to PowerCLI is in this thread?

Besides converting your Template to a VM, doing the updates and then converting the VM back to a Template, this is more of a Windows and Windows patching question.

Your 2nd part of the question "show more output" is primarily something you as the script writer would need to do.
