Specify SCSI ID when adding new RDMs?

Is there a way to specify a SCSI ID when adding a new and/or existing RDM to a VM?  I've had to reconfigure or move the RDM pointer files to different datastores sometimes and since our SQL for vCenter runs off of a virtualized SQL cluster and in 5.5 we can't edit those without the web client I am trying to cover down on all the scenarios where we would need to edit VMs without vCenter.

Afaik, you can't do this directly with a cmdlet, but there are other possibilities.

One of the available methods is described in Re: Automate add Windows Hard Disk

In short, add/connect the RDM to the VM with the cmdlet, then change the ID.
