Script to move VMs to new EVC cluster

I would like to automate the process of migrating VMs from an old non-EVC cluster to a new EVC cluster during a maintenance window.  In other words, during our monthly patch window, when the VM reboots, I would like it to come up on another (EVC enabled) cluster.

Can this be done?

Is the patching done through a script that you can control?
In other words, can you adapt the patching script, if there is one, to do the migration of the VMs?

No.  The patching software is Altiris.

That means the guest OS is rebooted, but the VM itself is not powered off/powered on.
Then I'm not sure how you could integrate/combine the migration of the VM with the guest OS patching.
