Powercli on Vcenter?

Hi,

i just start with powercli and i want to automate the execution of some scripts. I just want to know (sorry if someone somewhere asked this before) if it's a good way to execute my powercli scripts on the vcenter server (2008 R2)?

I think it's easy to schedule because the server is always up.

So what do you think about that?

Is it a bad idea for some reason?

Than you Smiley Happy

That will work, but there are some risks you should be aware of.

  • is it a good idea to install additional SW on your vCenter server ?
  • a bad script might monopolise the CPU or the memory on the vCenter machine

1/ I'm agree with you. But i wonder if it's a good idea to build one server just for that.

2/I test my scripts on a vcenter dedicated to avoid this. But you are right.

Thank you
