MS has released an alpha build for native powershell on MacOS/Linux.

Is there any chance to get powercli working or are the modules only compiled for windows?

No, the Windows PowerCLI installation package will not work under the Linux or MAC/OS PowerShell version.

During the MSFT presentation of the open-sourced PowerShell Alan Renouf showed a demo of a PowerCLI port.

During our VMworld session INF8092 some demos were shown with an early preview of a PowerCLI Linux - Mac/OS port.
