New-ContentlibraryItem from template and include advanced configuration. In the GUI it's just a check box but in powercli I cannot find a parameter to keep the template advanced configuration properties.
Such a parameter does not exist in the current New-ContentLibraryItem cmdlet.
You can simulate what the Web Client is doing with a number of calls to the CIS Services.
If you look at the Task this 'Clone to Library' generates, this is not a straightforward task I'm afraid.
- Export the Template to an OVF (that is where the Advanced Settings and MAC Addresses come into play)
- Create a Library Item
- Upload files (from the OVF) to the Library Item

I want to script it, if it's already in vsphere why would I need to upload the files ...
Because the cmdlet currently doesn't provide that option.
What I suggested is a workaround.

Not looking for manual workarounds though
