Issue while updating vendor specific data configuration for a distributed virtual portgroup in vcenter 5.5

Hi All,

We are trying to update vendor specific data in config spec of a distributed virtual port group, we are able to reconfigure the dvportgroup for the first time and updated data is visible in mob list (QuerydvsbyUUID). But from the second time, if we try to update vendor specific we are getting below error in vcenter.

Cannot complete operation due to concurrent modification by another operation

Environment that we are using is as follows:

ESXi 5.5, Vcenter 5.5, and vpshere client 5.5.

We are using Vijava to update vendor specific config of dvportgroup (reconfigureDVPortgroup_Task). When we searched for this error, we found below thread:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=201632...

But we are trying to reconfigure dvportgroup with root user in VCenter.

Request you to please let us know if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks & Regards,

Sirisha Devineni

Found similar issue in communities,

https://communities.vmware.com/message/2342966#2342966

The issue is with improper configversion.

Using the latest ConfigVersion (fetch  the actual ConfigVersion  value from the portgroup) in ReconfigurePortgroup_Task worked fine.
