How to check virtual machine version with Powershell

I'm just not finding any reference to it in my searches.

You can use Alan's vCheck (Daily Report) V3 to check the HW versions.

And if you want to upgrade to version 7 you can use Arne's scripts: PowerCLI: Upgrading vHardware to vSphere Part 1: Templates and PowerCLI: Upgrading vHardware to vSphere Part 2: VM’s
