Hot Clone VMDK and Attach to Another VM

Hi All-

I have been searching and not found anything quite what I am looking to do.  Want to basically clone multiple VMDKs, on a single VM (lets say D, E, F, drive, not the C drive or first VMDK), on different LSI logic controllers, and then attach them to another VM.  The source VM has to remain up, I saw some threads about a cold clone, however this source VM needs to remain online.  This would be scheduled and run once a week.  Thus overwriting the destination VMDK each time.  Is this feasible?  Any guidance would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is feasible with your restriction that the source VM shall stay powered on.

I tried with a temporary snapshot, and then a copy from the VMDK in the snapshot, but that didn't seem to work.

If the VM can be powered off, the Copy-HardDisk cmdlet should do the trick.
