Hardware Version Upgrade

I am looking for a script to schedule hardware version upgrades and will upgrade regardless if I reboot the VM from the vSphere console or the guest OS reboots on its own.  Any suggestions?

Am I missing something here on this?

Looks very successful right? No errors, however both a restart and/or power cycle did not upgrade the HW, but if I right click and select schedule upgrade and restart seems to work just fine.

I'm upgrading from a 5.0 (version 😎 to a 6.0 (version 11), did I do something wrong?

Are you supposed to change the upgradepolicy from "never" to "always" or ?

Thanks!

I think the UpgradePolicy = Never might be causing that.

Try changing that to 'onSoftPowerOff'

Believe that did the trick, I sampled three vm's and see the box for compatibility upgrade is indeed checked so next reboot that should happen, thanks for all your help
