Get-SpbmStoragePolicy Error in vcenter 7.0U3 with PowerCLI 12.5

Hi !

We are getting again errors in our automation tool, this time with VC 7.0U3.

We had a similar issues with 7.0U2 that we solved by updating the PowerCli version. We were not able to fix it this time updating to PowerCli 12.5 latest release.

<<< END FILE <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Get-SpbmStoragePolicy : 2/12/22 9:06:02 AM      Get-SpbmStoragePolicy           Failed to get Lookup Service information for this vCenter server. Details: Resource temporarily unavailable'

We have rebooted VC but the issue is still there. Only SPBM cmdlets are failing. We checked the logs from the lookupservice but there was nothing relevant. Also the service is on a green and healthy state on the Vcenter admin page.

It is very frustrating for us, as for every new VC release, something breaks our automation software.

I can provide more detailed info, if needed.

Thanks!

Hi Luc !

It turned out to be a misconfigured DNS.

The interesting thing is that some methods rely on DNS and others don't. We were connecting to the vcenter using the IP and cmdlets like Get-VM were working fine, but the SPBM cmdlets were all failing.

Now we have sorted the DNS config and all works as expected.

Thanks
