Hi,
Is there a way I can list out the total number of licenses (total and remaining) from the vi toolkit?
I want to list it out, similar to how it appears under administration|Licenses in VirtualCenter, e.g.
License Feature | Cost | Remaining | Total |
ESX Server Standard | 1/CPU Package | 40 | 56 |
VMotion | 1/CPU Package | 40 | 56 |
VMware HA | 1/CPU Package | 40 | 56 |
But all I want to list is the feature, total, remaining.
Thanks.
Roger.
There are no license server cmdlets at the moment afaik but I did write a script recently which gave you the features of each host and what they are licensed for, does this help ?

Have you seen this great article by Hugo Peeters ?
This explains how to access the license info.

Hi Alan,
Yes I have seen Hugo's article.
But I am afraid, being new to all things powershell, I didn't quite understand how to get the information I require.

Thanks Alan,
That is perfect. I understand that enough to be able to obtain the information I want and format it how I want.
Thanks,
Roger.
