Copying files from a web server to VMFS datastore

Hi everyone I am having a little bit of trouble working this one out.

I have a file on a webserver say http://webserver/important.txt and I want to copy that file to a local datastore.  I am able to copy the file from the webserver to server that I am running PowerCLI from and then to the datastore, but I can't work out how to copy directly.

Any ideas?

Afaik, the Copy-DatastoreItem can't handle this. The cmdlet requires a filepath on the Item parameter.

So you'll have to create a local file first, and then copy that to the datastore.
