Hello,
Does anyone have a prepared script to perform the basic configuration (DNS, NTP, Network, activation of services...) of an ESX server (6.5/6.7) and could share it?
This makes it easier to set up multiple servers in parallel with the same configuration.
Thanks
Peter
Hi Peter,
Why don't you use host profiles? Or does this not allow your license?
If you want to script the whole configuration of multiple hosts, this might help: Automate ESXI Host Configuration with PowerCLI and CSV - The Art of Information Technology

Since you're asking for a script, I've moved the discussion from VMware vSphere™ to VMware PowerCLI
The script mentioned earlier is a good start.
Check what is still missing, I'm pretty sure we can find samples in this community

Thank you very much!
At the Moment where I configure the servers (inhouse at our company) i didn't have an vCenter.
Peter
You may want to look at using a Kickstart script to perform these actions at install time. That's really the only option I can think of without vCenter because you probably don't have licensing for PowerCLI either.
There is no licensing for PowerCLI.
You can use it with any vSphere server, beit a vCenter or an ESXi node.
