Cluster Load Balancing

Using PowerCLI I am looking for a way to get cluster load balancing suggestions without DRS.  I do not want to move any of the VM's just review peak usage and suggest the best options,

We are licensed for DRS but I cannot turn it on .. why I am not sure so I am looking for other routes,

In Duncan's DRS Deepdive post, he explains the algorithm DRS is using to decide if a VM shall be migrated.

That should give you a good start if you want to simulate DRS.

Duncan and Frank provide much more details on the mechanism in their vSphere 5.1 Clustering Deepdive book.

When you have DRS license & could not turn on. In fact, its just 1-2 click required to enable DRS. Right click on cluster & you will get to know how to enable. (If cluster is not there, you can create one by right clicking on datacenter).

If still you could not, please set support call with VMware. When you enterprise license, why to lost smartness of feature like DRS.

Syncan rocks and I am looking it over and another script made from hs work.

As far as the other reply - Yes it's easy to use and mess up and that seems to be what happend to a former employee if you get my meaning 🙂 I am trying to get it on even if in full manual mode.
