vsphere Cluster + NSX

I have 2 vSphere Clusters with 3 hosts each

Cluster A - 3 hosts with NSX installed

Cluster B - 3 hosts with NSX installed

I am planning to merge Cluster B hosts in to Cluster A & have only 1 cluster which will be Cluster A.

What is the right steps to achieve this ?

My understanding is below.

1) Host 1 in Cluster B migrate all the work loads & empty it.

2) Put the host into maintenance mode

3) Remove the host from cluster B & add it under Cluster A

Is this right or am i missing some thing.

Will NSX vibs be uninstalled & re-installed during this process.

Let me know.

As per KB that you mentioned Supported methods for moving VMware NSX for vSphere 6.x prepared hosts across clusters (2127366) and this doc Remove a Host from an NSX Prepared Cluster

To remove a host from a prepared cluster, after moving the VMs you would need to move the host (in Cluster B in your case) to an unprepared cluster or making it a standalone host by moving it under logical Datacenter object.

Remove host from the prepared cluster by either moving it to an unprepared cluster or making it a standalone host outside of any cluster.

The other alternative would be uninstalling the cluster from NSX - Uninstall NSX from Host Clusters

Not sure if moving host directly to Cluster A will work as uninstalling NSX from host clusters in 6.3 doesn't require a reboot in 6.3

In the host has NSX 6.3.0 or later and ESXi 6.0 or later, you do not need to reboot a host to uninstall VIBs. In earlier versions of NSX and ESXi, a reboot is required to complete the VIB uninstall.

But the above KB or doc are safer in my opinion so you have a cleaner ESXi host to be added to Cluster A

Found the below KB article.

NSX VIBs will be removed & then needs to be pushed.
