Depending of how many RAM do you have in your physical server, you may create nested ESXi hosts and then you will be able to create multiple clusters, see an example here: http://blog.bertello.org/2014/12/03/home-lab-for-nsx/

but other problem is in my live environment i have 2esxi host and just have one cluster is that necessary have 2 cluster for run NSX?

why nsx create these limitation ? i don't  need 2 cluster but for use NSX have to use 2 cluster ?

Why ?

A single cluster is possible.  Please reference the design considerations for a single cluster on page 144 of the design guide here:

‌so thanks

i will read that but i want sure

1 - can run nsx without no problem on one cluster with one host or 3 host?

2- run nsx on one cluster is not abnormal ?

3- will it work excelent on one cluster?

Hi there,

Just my two pesos:

Would be nice to have a separated cluster one for management, one for Edge services and one for compute, in home lab you can have for testing proposes one cluster for mgtm/Edge and one for compute then if you are lack of resources just to have two ESXi hosts (virtual ESXi hosts) it is ok, even in production, again the answer is "it depends" just trying to answer what is normal and what is not, sometimes best practice needs to be break with the right justification, so I have seen things like running nsx manager controllers and control VM for testing running inside a resource pool, and the requirement from best practice is to have a DRS for each controller mapping one VM controller on each ESXi hosts.

1-Is your reason that you say best practice is we had 3 cluster is just for esxi host resources ?

2- if i had one cluster with 3 hosts or 2 hosts with enough resource there is not problem ?

Hi,

you can configure one cluster with 2 or 3 esxi host

if you have ressources you can also use one physical machine .

you can use one cluster .

Don't hesitate if you need help

Also I have created a lab nestled with 8 host and 3 cluster.

I'll give you a tip, but only in private would otherwise be sent away 🙂
