Not sure what this means, I was advised to upgrade my HP NIC driver and it was pointed out to me, that these 2 bold options should match.
Advertised Auto Negotiation: true

How do I get the firmware version to match?
Hi n00ban00ba,
I don't agree that driver and firmware versions need to match. This is rare to see and usually not the case. If this is an HP based system, you should be ensuring your driver/firmware is at the latest recommended combination outlined in HP's 'recipe guides'. I'm not sure if this is the latest one, but here is an example:
http://vibsdepot.hpe.com/hpq/recipes/Nov2017VMwareRecipeSPP201610_21.9.1.pdf
These driver/firmware combinations are tested by HP and are what VMware GSS should be advising customers to use. Not a single Emulex elxnet driver/firmware combination has the exact same driver/firmware version in that document. You will notice, however, that 11.x drivers generally go with a 11.x firmware release. I'm assuming that GSS may be more concerned with an 11.x firmware with a 12.x driver.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Mike
