I upgraded my vcns 5.5 environment to nsx 6.1.4 following all of the instructions and making sure that all pieces and parts met the recommended versions (vcenter, esxi, nsx, vcns). After the upgrade of the vcns/nsx manager appliance was complete I tried to log into the nsx manager site (https://nsx_appliance_IP) with the same username (admin) and my known password (same pw i used to log in with to upload the file for the upgrade) only to get the error "unkown username or password". So I tried the default of admin and default and received the same error. I am able to log into my vcenter web gui and see the networking and security tab and the nsx manager. I can view the vcns migrated fw rules and even create new rules.
I contacted vmware support only to have them tell me I must have made a mistake during the upgrade process. Has anyone had this experience performing this upgrade and what would be the suggested fix for my problem of not being able to log into the nsx manager site? I have backups of the vcns data as well as an offline copy of my pre-upgrade vcns appliance. Would rolling everything back and install a fresh nsx appliance and re-create all my rules be best?
