The MC will execute the best effort vMotion.

Dear team,

As per the below statement marked in bold, we need to understand how MC will execute the best effort vMotion if we set DRS as a manual/disabled state. Could someone please assist.

• 2 types of migration Inplace and maintenance mode migration
  1. Inplace migration → Host will be migrated Inplace when the workload VMs are running on the host.
     1. In-place mode migration is NOT supported for VDS 7.0. With VDS 7.0 users should use maintenance mode migration.
  2. Maintenance mode migration
     1. Manual maintenance mode. → User manually brings the host into maintenance mode 
        1. This mode is NOT supported if the customer has DFW.
     2. Automated maintenance mode. → MC automates the maintenance mode activity.
        1. If the VC version is 7.0, then DRS has to be enabled
        2.  If the VC version is 6.5, or 6.7, then DRS should be in manual mode/disabled. The MC will execute the best effort vMotion.
