Switching loop when redirecting traffic to Service Insert

Hi,

we are using a service insert on NSX-T 3.1 to process a E-W traffic.

  • Our esxi has two nics, both as the uplink of the NVDS use the teaming policy: "Load Balance Source".
  • vmk0 has moved to the NVDS in a VLAN segment.
  • We don't use the overlay segment, all the VM connect to VLAN segment with different VLAN ID

our network topo like this:

When I start redirect traffic to the 3rd Service VM, there would be a switching loop.

Can someone help me to find what's the problem, and how to solved it.

Hi, I would like to confirm some points.

  1. Do you get any error message about switching loop?
  2. The 3rd party service redirection is working correctly?

Thanks for the reply.

1、 At the moment, a lot of packets droped. Look at the "L2 switch", there are a lot of "MAC move". so I guest there was a loop.

2、 The 3rd SVM just received the GENEVE packet then send back from the same vnic. At the moment of problem, I cant login into the ESXi and the SVM because of the packet drop.

I don't know how to troubleshooting.
