Hi,
I have a requirement to migrate/redeploy edge vm's from existing shared compute edge cluster to newly built dedicated edge cluster with minimal downtime.
- Current Cluster has 2 Distributed Switches (Compute-dvs-Public & Compute-dvs-Private) for the VM's
- vSphere Team created 2x new Distributed Switches (edge-dvs-Public & edge-dvs-Private) in New Cluster
when i try to redeploy one of the edge its failing with below error :
"Failed to resolve Vnic network mappings for haIndex 0 for NSX Edge edge-76. Please verify that resourcePool and Portgroup associations are specified correctly."
Could some one help if we have new distributed switch in New Edge cluster whether redeploy possible, if not what would be the best approach to migrate / redeploy all edge vm's to New edge cluster.
Thanks for your help in advance
Is your new cluster prepared with NSX-V ?
Is the new cluster part of the existing Transport Zone or is it a different Zone ?
Do you have any DLR and Dynamic Routing in this setup?
Thank you for the reply.
Please below answer for the questions:
Is your new cluster prepared with NSX-V ? Yes
Is the new cluster part of the existing Transport Zone or is it a different Zone ? yes, its part of same existing transport zone
Do you have any DLR and Dynamic Routing in this setup? yes we have DLR
Can you flip the uplink on one of the edges to point to new DVS portgroup and try a redeployment?
i was wondering if you found a solution... i am having the exact same issue.
After doing some more digging it looks like this error is from having a separate distributed switch for the Edge Cluster and Compute cluster.
I though this was supported as long as the transport zone was extended between the 2 clusters.
same happened to me recently. What fixed it for me was to go into network and security, nsx edges, click the edge, configure, interfaces and just disconnected all the virtualwire interfaces except for the uplink. redeploy worked after that.
