I would like to setup a user in the Active Directory domain so that he can access NSX as an NSX Administrator by using AD groups. Here's what I've done:
- Created new user in AD called JADM and assigned user to AD group TestExch.
- In NSX Networking & Security, Users & Domains, added the group as an NSX Administrator (Click Add, "Specify a vCenter Group, type in "MyDomain\TestExch", Select NSX Administrator permissions.
- In vCenter\Administration\Users and Groups, add group with Name "MyDomain\TestExch", add members from domain "MyDomain", select the AD group and add to vCenter.
- In root of vCenter, add permissions to local group "MyDomain\TestExch" as Read-Only. This will give the group members logon access to the vCenter.
My user can get to the Networking and Security page, however in the Dashboard he sees the waning "No NSX Managers available. Verify current user has role assigned on NSX Manager."
I added the user directly to NSX Users and Domains as an NSX Administrator and that works. I now need to figger out how to do the same using AD groups.
How can I setup a user to have NSX Administrator access using AD groups?
