NSX for vSphere - vmkernel used for Transport zone created in wrong DVS

Hello,

Brief description of environment

cloud build for a service provider with vcloud director

vSphere: 6.7 U2

NSX-SP 6.4.5

VCD 10.0

By mistake we created the vmkernel port used for the NSX for vSphere transport zone in the wrong Distributed Switch, therefore the port group that manages the VXLAN traffic located is in the wrong DVS. This is a production environment with vcloud tenants using NSX Edge services, I really appreciate any idea to migrate that port group to the correct DVS,

thanks in advance,

Andy

If you have server availability, better take 1-2 servers out from this cluster and add to new cluster and DVS , ensure they are part of same transport zone . Create a  Cluster should be available to VCD (PVDC) ,migrate the virtual machines from Old cluster to new cluster. You can also provision few dummy edges with right transit VLAN in the new cluster , which help to reduce the downtime during this switch

Uninstall VXLAN from old cluster and perform the installation on correct DVS on the old cluster. Migrate the VM back to old cluster and add the hosts also back to old cluster and connect to right the edges.

Thanks Sreec for your input, my main concerns about this task is the migration of VMs from one cluster to other since this implies move a tenant from one PVDC to other, I created a post in the VDC community forum regarding this because I'm not sure this is even possible.

You can always perform this activity within a PVDC if you wish to do so , ensure that new cluster is in same PVDC .
