NSX-T edges on NVDS

Hi all,

I wonder if it is possible to deploy edges on N-VDS without migrating kernel and all netwotk to N-VDS. My current configuration for edges is done via VDS which I presume doesn't allow Enhanced data Path traffic which I have on Overlay network.

In addition will future releases of NSX-t potentially include ability to deploy Edge on baremetal in UEFI environment.

Thanks

yes its possible. That's a collapsed N-VDS design. Attached.

If you have extra physical NICs to support additional vDS for kernel ports then you can use it for ESXi and vCenter mgmt.

If host has both Edge VM and compute VMs,  for better utilization of uplinks, its recommended to have Edge VM on vDS so that compute VM (on N-VDS) and Edge VM dont have to share same set of uplinks.
